Frequently Asked Questions

SwiftInvoice is a free invoice generator that works entirely in your browser — no sign-up, no uploads, and your data never leaves your device. The short answers below cover everything else people ask.

Is SwiftInvoice free?

Yes — unlimited invoices, your logo, any currency and watermark-free PDF downloads cost $0. A Pro plan (planned at $6–9 per month) will add convenience features like a client library, but the generator itself stays free.

Do I need an account to make an invoice?

No. There are no accounts on SwiftInvoice at all. Open the page, fill in the invoice, download the PDF.

Is my invoice data uploaded anywhere?

No. The generator runs entirely in your browser. Your data is processed on your device and your draft is stored only in your browser's local storage. Nothing is transmitted to or kept on a server.

How do I get a PDF?

Click "Download PDF". Your browser's print dialog opens with only the invoice sheet visible (the editor and navigation are hidden by a print stylesheet) — choose "Save as PDF".

Which currencies are supported?

USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, CAD and JPY, each formatted to local convention automatically.

Can I add tax?

Yes. The tax name (Sales Tax, VAT, GST or anything else) and the rate are both editable, the tax is calculated on the discounted subtotal, and it prints as its own line. Preset pages exist for US sales tax, UK VAT at 20% and Australian GST at 10%.

What about discounts?

You can apply a percentage discount or a fixed-amount discount. It is deducted before tax is calculated, matching how most tax regimes treat reduced prices.

If I close the tab, is my invoice lost?

No. Your draft auto-saves to your browser on the same device and reopens exactly as you left it. It is not synced between devices, because syncing would require the server we deliberately don't have.

Can I put my logo on the invoice?

Yes. Upload an image in the editor and it appears at the top of the invoice. The file is read locally by your browser and is never uploaded.

Does SwiftInvoice give tax advice?

No. SwiftInvoice is a calculator and layout tool. Which rate applies, and whether your goods or services are taxable, depends on your jurisdiction — check your tax authority or an accountant.
