Free Invoice Template
This is an invoice template you don't have to download: it is already open in front of you. Type into the fields, watch the finished invoice update live, and save it as a PDF — no Word file, no spreadsheet, no formatting wrestling.
Classic templates make you fight margins in a document editor and do the maths yourself. This one keeps the familiar invoice layout and does every calculation for you, in your browser, for free.
| Description | Qty | Price | Amount |
|---|---|---|---|
| Consulting services | 1 | $500.00 | $500.00 |
Live preview — the PDF prints exactly this sheet, nothing else.
What a good invoice template includes
- Who is billing: your name or business, address and contact email — plus your logo if you have one.
- Who is billed: the client's name and address, matching their accounts-payable records.
- Invoice number and dates: a unique, sequential number, the issue date, and a clear due date.
- Itemised lines: what was delivered, quantity, unit price and line amount — vague lump sums get paid last.
- Transparent totals: subtotal, any discount, the tax as its own line with its rate, and the total due.
- Payment instructions: how to pay you — bank details, payment link or terms — in the notes.
Every element above is a field in the template. When you are done, "Download PDF" prints only the invoice itself, in an A4 layout any accounts department will accept.
Template FAQ
Can I save this template for next time?
Your entries auto-save in your browser on this device, so the template reopens with your details — including your usual tax rate and notes — already filled in. There is no file to keep track of and nothing stored online.
Is it a Word or Excel template?
No — it is better suited to sending. Word and Excel templates break formatting between machines and make you calculate totals by hand. This template renders a fixed, print-ready layout and does the maths for you.
Can I use my own logo and colours?
You can upload your logo and it prints at the top of the invoice. Extended branding controls are on the Pro roadmap (see Pricing); the core template stays free.
Need tax on the template?
Set any rate in the tax field, or use the preset pages: sales tax (US), VAT (UK), GST (AU).
